While camped near Old Austin in 1862, a large group of Confederate soldiers were overcome by an epidemic of typhoid and black measles, causing the deaths of approximately 1,500. In 1907, the remains were moved to this historic cemetery, which is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Directions: One mile northwest of Ark. 31 at Ark. 319; located on Rye Drive, just off Cherry Road between Campground and Mount Carmel Roads.
