The evening before the battle of Poison Spring, the Union Forces camped on White Oak Creek near where the state park is located today. The park is the interpretation gateway to Poison Spring and the Southern arm of the Red River Campaign. Park includes campsites; store with supplies, bait and gifts; marina; launch ramp; barrier-free fishing pier; pavilion; picnic sites, trails, playground; visitor center includes exhibits, a CD interactive program and bicycle rentals.
