The restored historic Spillman Engineering Over the Jumps Carousel, gift shop, Cheetah Outpost, Lorikeet Landing interactive exhibit where guests can feed the birds a cup of nectar, Penguin Pointe exhibit, Wild Wonders Animal Show. The historic Works Projects Administration “big cat” house has been converted to Café Africa, a full-service restaurant. Over 750 mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians call nationally accredited facility home. Other attractions include special programs, a petting zoo and miniature train rides. Practices green initiatives with recycling and Green Team program

    The Little Rock Zoo has many species of animals that are well cared for. The zoo managers have been diligent to provide the animals with a close replica of their natural habitat. Zoo guides are knowledgeable and passionate about the animals under their care. After a trip to the LR Zoo, one leaves with a sense of urgency to preserve the habitats, environments, and welfare if both animals and humankind. My personal favorite is the African penguin, but really, they are all special and precious!
