    The Brushy Creek Recreation Area of the park is located at the Hwy 246 bridge offers day-use facilities including picnic sites, a nature trail, restrooms and river access. A walkway high above the river provides barrier-free access on the west side. Tent sites with no hookups. The Cossatot is considered to be the toughest river in Arkansas to navigate. Especially popular with kayakers, it is for the experienced only. The word "Cossatot" is an Indian word meaning "skull-crusher." Throughout the year the park has events that cater to learning about nature and the environment.
