Like most parts of The Natural State, we received snow in the Arkansas Delta. Not a lot…probably between an inch to three inches in some parts. Luckily, it didn’t stick to the roads or walkways. But it was a beautiful, “puffy” snow, which we don’t get a lot in this part of the state.
Tara Gillanders, a friend who just happens to also be the park interpreter at Mississippi River State Park, decided to get out and take some photos of the beautiful snow in our beautiful park, located outside Marianna. She offered to share them…and I immediately told her that I wanted to do a blog, feauturing the photos.
You all know that I love the Arkansas Delta…and there’s just something SO SPECIAL about Crowley’s Ridge. These photos were all taken around the Bear Creek Lake recreation area, Crowley’s Ridge Parkway National Scenic Bywayand the Great River Road National Scenic Byway. The two byways run throughout the park, which is located inside the St. Francis National Forest.
If you’ve never been to the Mississippi River State Park, you should come visit. It’s a beautiful park. And yes…I’m a little biased!
