All That Jazz: ASU Jazz Bands Perform with Dwayne Dolphin Feb. 28

 The Department of Music at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro presents the ASU Jazz Bands in concert on Tuesday, Feb. 28, at 7:30 p.m. in Riceland Hall, located inside the Fowler Center. The concert is free and open to the public.
 
The concert will feature guest artist and bassist extraordinaire Dwayne Dolphin. The evening’s performance will focus on works from the catalogue of the Charles Mingus big band repertoire, in addition to some small combo pieces.

Dolphin plays multiple basses, including acoustic, electric and piccolo bass. He began his career as a member of the Wynton Marsalis Quintet. Dolphin has performed with Stanley Turrentine, Fred Wesley, Hank Jones, Geri Allen, Nancy Wilson and Abbey Lincoln.
