I can’t quite put my finger on why, but to me fall has always been closely intertwined with antiquing trips. Maybe it’s the beautiful weather; maybe it’s the upcoming holidays; maybe it has to do with the harvest…whatever the reason, to me they go hand-in-hand.
If you like looking for that special treasure, you’ll want to make sure you go to the Antique Alley Arkansas Antique Show, Saturday and Sunday. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 8 and noon to 5 p.m. on Oct. 9. Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for ages 12 and under.
Over 200 booths with vendors from 10 different states will be spread throughout the Conway Expo Center and Fairgrounds just waiting for you. Many vendors are going to be in the holiday season with booths decked out in appropriate décor. Some of the items that will be available are architectural salvage, antique furniture, coins, jewelry, glassware, pottery and silver.
A special treat will be food offered by Cross Creek Sandwich Shop. If you’ve never had the pleasure of eating something prepared by this wonderful shop, it’s worth the price of admission alone. I’ve eaten there and the food is fabulous. The Expo Center is located at 2505 East Oak Street.
