Arkansas Filmmakers Showcased during Arkansas Shorts

The 4th Annual ARKANSAS
SHORTS – a night of short film is Jan. 8th at the historic Malco Theater in Hot
Springs. The program of short videos , which is limited to natives or current
residents of Arkansas, is represented by directors from Fayetteville, Little
Rock, Clarksville and Hot Springs. Stand out shorts include Greg Watermann’s
photo montage of rock band, System of a Down’s final concert, Marc Byrd’s music
video for his ambient band, Hammock, and a live multi-video installation called
“cinePLOSION!” by HSDFI Festival Director, Dan Anderson.
 
Formats for this year’s program include; music video, experimental, documentary and narrative.
The not-for-profit arts organization, Low Key Arts produces the event and the annual Valley of the Vapors Independent Music Festival every March. The
evening starts at 7 with an opening reception and the shorts begin at 7:30 pm.
Admission is $7 and open to all ages.
