Art for Kids This Saturday in Fort Smith

Jill M. Rohrbach

You know those random objects your kids pick up and bring home – rocks, feathers – and those random items in your home that once belonged to something or were once played with but no more – Legos, marbles – well now’s the time to gather them up and recycle them into some fun art.

The Regional Art Museum welcomes you and your children to bring found objects from home to make art with from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 23 in Creekmore Park in Fort Smith. Bring anything you want – buttons, hair ties, sea shells, paper clips, whatever the aspiring artist inside you demands. Teachers will be on hand to help with the creations, which you get to take home.

At 2 p.m. there will be story telling for kids. RAM also teamed up with The First Tee, so take a little lesson while you’re there. Popcorn, peanuts and sno cones make the event the quintessential family day.
