Birding by Boat at Cane Creek State Park

If you enjoy watching our feathered friends in their natural habitat, here’s an event you should check out!

Cane Creek State Park in Star City is hosting “Birding by Boat” on Saturday, Feb. 18. Cane Creek Lake and Bayou Bartholomew are home to a variety of birds, including bald eagles, owls, ducks, and woodpeckers. The special kayak tour gives participants a unique opportunity for a close-up view of the park’s feathered residents.

No experience is necessary to attend the workshop, although attendees should be comfortable around water. The $20 fee ($15 for youngsters 12 and under) includes usage of a kayak, lifejacket and paddle. But don’t forget to bring your binoculars!

For more information or to make reservations, contact the park at 870-628-4714.
