There is just something about food cooked outdoors that makes it even tastier! The staff at our Arkansas State Parks really knows a thing or two (or 50!) about cooking outdoors, especially in Dutch ovens. This weekend, the staff at Davidsonville Historic State Park in Pocahontas takes Dutch oven cooking to a whole new level with a workshop focusing on the French influence on early Arkansas foodways.
The park offers Bon Appetit: A Dutch Oven Cooking Workshop tomorrow,
March 16. Participants will learn the history of French influence in early Arkansas kitchens as well as make several French dishes in a Dutch oven, including French roast beef, French bread and tarte tatin. Attendees will enjoy a French-inspired dinner following the workshop.
Last year, the park’s Italian Night workshops were a huge hit, and this year’s salute to France promises to be as popular. A few reservations are STILL available for tomorrow’s workshop. Contact our friends at Davidsonville Historic State Park at 870-892-4708 for more information or to reserve your space for tomorrow!
