you’ll have that opportunity at the 46th annual Quapaw Quarter Association Spring Tour of Homes. Five meticulously restored private homes in the Governor’s Mansion area of the historic district are going to be open to the public:
Turner-Ledbetter House
Fletcher-Heiskell House

Mayer Cottage
Turner-Back House
Frese Cottage

All are within easy walking distance of each other. In addition to the tour from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, street activities and a “dramatic centerpiece” construction demonstration by Michael Walls of Little Rock, now “florist to the stars” in Los Angeles, are scheduled.
A favorite event of the tour that has been missing in action for a while returns this year: the evening Candlelight Gala. The 5:30 p.m. Saturday May 8 event features the tour homes, several of which serve champagne and wine, followed by cocktails, dinner and dancing in the Garth of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 310 West 17th Street.

Prices for the Sunday afternoon tour are $12 in advance, $15 after May 1. Admission to the evening Candlelight Gala are $100 per person. Tickets can be purchased in advance online or by visiting the Little Rock Visitor Information Center
at 516 East Capitol Avenue. Proceeds benefit the historic preservation efforts of the Quapaw Quarter Association.
