The accolades for Chef Lee Richardson of Ashley’s at the Capital in Little Rock keep coming. Yesterday I wrote about him being up for Food and Wine’s Best New Chef. Today it is announced that he is once again a James Beard Award finalist. The Beard Awards are highly coveted honors presented to the crème’ de la crème of the industry. According to the James Beard Foundation Website, “The James Beard Foundation Awards shine a spotlight on the best and brightest talent in the food and beverage industry.” Time Magazine calls them ““The Oscars of the food world.”
Richardson was a finalist last year. This year he is one of South’s finalists in the Best Chefs in America. He is up against chefs from various communities in Florida, Louisiana and Alabama.
Congratulations Chef Richardson! You continue to do Arkansas proud!
