The Jacksonville Museum of Military History is providing the public a way to thank some very special members of the armed forces during the 3rd Annual Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day Celebration. It will be held at the museum on Saturday, April 5.
The day-long celebration is to honor, remember, and welcome home Vietnam Veterans. Due to the controversial nature of the conflict, returning soldiers were not given the greeting they deserved when returning home. Through this celebration the Jacksonville Museum of Military History is giving them an official welcome home and an opportunity to fellowship and share their experiences and war stories.
It’s also an opportunity for the public to express their gratitude. Activities include a parade, an Honor and Remembrance Ceremony, and dinner on the grounds. Admission to the parade, the museum and the ceremony is free. Dinner on the grounds is $10. There will be live music and booths by veterans service organizations. The museum located at 100 Veterans Circle in Jacksonville. Call 501-241-1943 or visit www.jaxmilmuseum.org for more information.
