The Arkansas Craft Guild, which has served the central part of the state with fine quality arts and crafts for the past 31 years, is branching out to northwest Arkansas. Its first Spring Showcase will be May 13-15 in the Atrium of the Clarion Hotel and Convention Center in Bentonville. After an invitation only preview evening on the Thursday the13th, the show will open to the public from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 14, and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 15.
This new event from the Guild will be held annually. The Arkansas Craft Guild was established as a craft marketing cooperative in Stone County in 1962 and today some 200 artists and craft artisans make up the cooperative’s all-Arkansas membership. For almost 50 years Guild members’ work has been juried on the basis of design, quality, and fine craftsmanship.
The Guild office and the Arkansas Craft Gallery, the retail showroom of Guild members’ work, are located at 104 E Main Street in Mountain View. The Gallery is open year around Tuesday through Saturday.
