If you’re looking for something to do on Friday nights in northwest Arkansas, check out the Third Friday Twilight Walks in the downtown Rogers Historic District. Merchants in the downtown host local artists, photographers and musicians, and promote special sales on the third Friday of each month from May through September.
Each month has a unique theme. This Friday, May 21 will be Celebrate the Arts. Themes for the rest of the year are: June 18, Picnic in the Park; July 16, Summer in the City; Aug. 20, Dog Days of Summer; Sept. 17, Indian Summer.
Other happenings during the event include live music, community art projects for children, street musicians, artists and crafters lining the sidewalks, loft tours of historic downtown residences, and food vendors. Many of the downtown businesses stay open late giving you time to peruse art gallers, vintage book stores, antique and flea markets, restaurants, coffee shops, flower shops, furniture and interior design stores, specialty quilting and fabric stores, old-fashioned candy store, women’s clothing stores, silk floral shop, Daisy Air Gun Museum, roger’s Little Theater, Rogers Historical Museum and more.
The downtown merchants also hold a Twilight Walk Raffle. In conjunction with the Twilight Walks, the downtown merchants are holding Twilight Walk Raffle. Merchants have donated over $2,250 in gift certificates as prizes for the monthly drawings, and there is a final drawing for $500 cash prize in September. Ticket sales benefit the Main Street Rogers merchant association and will be sold at most merchant locations for $1 each or 6 for $5.
