The Waynebillies will be in Bentonville on Sept. 2 for the downtown First Friday event. This nationally-known bluegrass group performs from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the Main Stage. Also performing is an 11-piece local funk fusion band – LaFuSo – which will play from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The music of The Waynebillies is described as a mix of gospel and bluegrass, gritty groove and punk, and metal and rock and roll. They play original and cover tunes. They are known for playing familiar tunes in an unfamiliar way, such as country tunes with a psychedelic fiddle, or fiddle and mandolin instrumentals with hard rock bass and drums.
First Friday is a monthly themed event held downtown. This month’s theme is Bikapalooza. So in addition to great music, you can enjoy BMX stunts , several bike trails events, and Norwegian international trials star Thomas RemvikAasen. Call 479.254.0254 or visit DowntownBentonville.org for more info.
