Fitness Fix: Arkansas Running Clubs

Check here every Tuesday for a fitness fix rundown. I’ll be
on the lookout for running, cycling, tri’s, adventure races, and other active outlets taking place around the state to highlight each week. Keep me posted if
you come across any races out there.

If you’ve been
training for the LR Marathon ( March 7) you’ve likely come across the training
wall. Those times when you just don’t want to run. Whether you are a local or
just in town for a visit, running clubs can help keep a runner’s training
schedule on track by supplying a support system to tap into. The state is
overflowing with options. Here is a look at a few of them:

Little Rock
Roadrunners

This popular and
active running club was created in 1977 and is located in Hillcrest. Along with
meetings and races, regular group runs take place during the week at various
locations around town and include track/speed workout options as well. A
detailed list of running locations and meeting times can be found at the club’s
website. The website also has information on a solid selection of LR running
routes. Call 501-851-4655 for more information and definitely check out

if you aren’t familiar with the group. You won’t be
disappointed.
