Fly Like Peter Pan or Meet Tinker Bell

In conjunction with River Valley Arts Center’s upcoming live theater performances of “Peter Pan,” the Arts Center in Russellville is offering the chance for two people to take flight like the performers in the play. It’s an exciting opportunity for a unique experience, and here’s how it works:

One flying experience will be awarded to the highest bid and the other by raffle. You can bid by emailing artscenter@centurytel.net, by telephone to 479.968.2452 or in person at the Arts Center, located at 1001 E. B St. by 5 p.m. Monday, June 11. Minimum starting bid is $100 and bidding is in $10 increments at the least.

Raffle chances can be obtained for $10 each at the Arts Center or from any member of the Board of Directors.

If you win, either the auction or the raffle, you choose between two days: June 13 or June 14. There are some qualifications. Winners must weigh less than 175 pounds, be in good physical condition, and sign insurance indemnification before flying (parent must sign for minor). You are allowed to videotape or photograph your experience and have family and friends present when you fly.

The performances of “Peter Pan” will be in the new Center for the Arts on the campus of Russellville High School on Fridays and Saturdays, June 22, 23, 29, and 30 at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays, June 24 and July 1 at 2:00 p.m.

If you don’t get the chance to fly, you can at least meet Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, Wendy and her siblings John and Michael, and maybe even Nana, and get their autograph and take your picture with them if you attend the pre-opening Peter Pan Party from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Black Box Theatre in the Center for the Arts on opening night, Friday, June 22.

The reception, with heavy hors d’ oeuvres, is hosted by Wells Fargo Advisors and includes limited tours of the new state of the art visual and performing arts facility. Tickets for this event include your ticket to the live theatre performance on opening night. The cost is $25 for age 18 and older, $18 for ages 4 to 17, and free for age 3 and younger.
