On Fridays, I’ll share some of my favorite geocaching spots throughout The Natural State. Even if you’re not a cacher, the Friday blogs will feature towns and attractions throughout the eastern section of Arkansas…perfect for a weekend trip!
This weekend, Pocahontas is hosting a Geocaching Meet and Greet in conjunction with the community’s Founders Days celebration. A meet and greet is exactly what it sounds like…geocachers get together at a designated place
at a certain time and meet each other. I attended two meet and greets last year (one in Helena-West Helena and one in Smackover) and I had the BEST time!
The Pocahontas Meet and Greet starts at 9 a.m. tomorrow. Click here for all the specifics and the coordinates of the meeting location. As of today, there are a total of 72 geocaches within a 15-mile radius of Pocahontas.
As I said, Pocahontas is hosting their Founders Day celebration today and tomorrow (Saturday). The event features live music, arts and crafts booths, food vendors, demonstrations and activities for the kids.
If you’re looking for something to do this weekend…why not head to Pocahontas, do a little caching and then check out all the great activities going on at the Founders Day event!
Have a great weekend!

Kim don’t forget this weekend is the tenth anniversary of Geocaching. A special “10th Anniversary Icon” is available to those who attend a 10 YEARS! party either Saturday or Sunday.
