Today I’m featuring one of my favorite geocaching towns…West Memphis!
As of today, there are 194 active caches within a 15-mile radius of the city. One of the things that I enjoy so much about caching in West Memphis is that there is such a variety of geocaches…everything from park and grabs to multi-caches to clever magnetics! In fact, one of our Great River Road Geocache Project caches is in the town…and I’ll give you a photographic hint! The cache is located in one of
these photographs!
Next weekend would be a GREAT time to head to West Memphis for a caching adventure…because you could end the day by attending the 13th annual Freedom Fest Music and Fireworks Show on July 2. The community-spirited celebration begins at 7 p.m. at Tilden Rodgers Park. Participants are urged to bring picnic suppers, lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy an evening of American music and patriotic tributes performed by Southern Exposure, HWY 7 Band, and the Bartlett Community Orchestra. The evening ends with a magnificent fireworks display around the park’s 11-acre lake. Log on to www.WestMemphis.org or phone 870-732-7598 for details.
So if you’re looking for a geocaching adventure in the near future…check out West Memphis! Have a great weekend!
