I felt like I had found a golden ticket and was touring Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory with Charlie when I stepped into the Eureka Springs Chocolate Lovers Festivallast year. This event is surely the source for Wonka’s chocolate river. In fountain after fountain, chocolate cascaded in shades of brown, white and even purple. Spread across each table was pretzels, strawberries, marshmallows and more for me to drench in the flow of chocolate. Some I ate on the spot. Some I stuck in the take-home box I was given at the door.
The 5th annual Chocolate Lovers Festivalwill take place from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14 at the Inn of the Ozarks Convention Center in Eureka Springs. Take your sweetie, take a friend, or take yourself – just don’t miss it. The festival will also feature several “best of” contests for amateurs and professionals decorating cakes, making sculptures, or using chocolate in some fashion.
The cost for tickets is $12 for adults, and $6 for kids 12 and under. Tickets are available at the door. Want to know more? Check out www.eurekachocfest.com.
