Whether you’re mad about hats or mad about art, you’re sure to have a good time at the 8th annual Mad Hatter Ball on Oct. 29 in Eureka Springs. The event is a lavish costumed affair and the main fundraiser for the Eureka Springs School of the Arts.
Taking place in the Crystal Dining Room of the 1886 Crescent Hotel and Spa, festivities will include a live and silent auction, music and dancing, and a hat contest. Live music will be provided by Red Ambition. Hats are required and partygoers get creative with their headwear. Many of them sport full costumes. Awards are given each year for Best Hat and People’s Choice.
The event is from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tickets are $50 and include an Italian pasta buffet. Call 479-253-5384 for tickets or more information.
The non-profit art school provides adult and youth classes in arts and crafts throughout the year for emerging and professional artists. Award-winning, noted artists and craftspeople teach classes at the school’s campus, located seven miles west of Eureka Springs on Ark. 62. Check it out at Easartschool.com.
