Have a Hoot of a Good Time in McGehee This Weekend!

owlfest2012The town of McGehee celebrates the 7th annual Owlfest on Oct. 4-5. The event is held during the McGehee Owls homecoming weekend. The event includes a 5K run/walk, an area just for the kids,mcgehee owlfest a street dance, live music, a petting zoo, a motorcycle show, arts and crafts, and great food. Also on tap this year are a hot dog eating contest, a balloon man on stilts, a sidewalk chalk contest, a pumpkin decorating contest, a dog show and a magic show. tour de hoot2This year’s Tour de Hoot is being held on Oct. 5 in conjunction with Owlfest. The bicycle tour, which benefits the McGehee Boys and Girls Club, offers routes ranging from 25 to 100 miles throughout southeast Arkansas on flat, paved rural roads.
