The Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN) will rebroadcast the special featuring the 2011 Johnny Cash Music Festival, filmed last year at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, on Thursday, Sept. 13, beginning at 7 p.m.
The 2011 sold-out concert featured performances by Rosanne Cash, John Carter Cash, Kris Kristofferson, George Jones, Tommy Cash, Joanne Cash Yates, Dailey and Vincent, Gary Morris, Rodney Crowell, Chelsea Crowell, and others was produced for PBS. The performers signed on because of personal relationships with Johnny Cash and members of the Cash family and a desire to help keep Cash’s legacy intact through restoration of the home in Dyess.
The 2nd annual Johnny Cash Music Festival is slated for Friday, Oct. 5, at the ASU Convocation Center in Jonesboro. This year’s featured performers include Roseanne Cash, Willie Nelson, Dierks Bentley and The Civil Wars.
Proceeds from the concert will fund the restoration of the Johnny Cash Boyhood Home in Dyess.
Tickets start at $37.50 per person. Visit www.JohnnyCashMusicFest.com for more information on purchasing tickets or the lineup.
