Last Weekend for Wye Mountain Daffodil Festival

Kerry Kraus

Warmer temperatures are finally here, just in time for the final weekend of the 33rd annual Wye Mountain Daffodil Festival, which is March 19-20. According to a Wye Mountain spokesperson, there are plenty of blooms available. “The weather is supposed to be beautiful this weekend.  We’ll have arts and crafts and barbecue.”

The flower fields are open during blooming season. Hours are 9 a.m. 5 p.m. and the gorgeous yellow blossoms can be picked for a small donation. Proceeds benefit the Wye Mountain United Methodist Church. There will also be arts and crafts, barbecue, cobblers, and soft drinks for sale. The church and daffodil fields are located atop Wye Mountain at the junction of Ark. 113 and Ark. 300, west of Little Rock.

More information and photographs can be found on the event Facebook page.

Hi! Wouldn’t you be the travel writer WHO covers it, the travel writer THAT covers it? I only wrote for Ark. newspapers for 30 years, so what do I know?! In the 1970s, I wrote the first Ark. Democrat article about Granma Bessie Harmon, the Wye UEB Church and her seven acres of daffodils. Lived in Ark. 50 years. We miss it! Cheers!

Touche Jerry. You are absolutely correct. We’ll get it changed. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
