Museum Monday: History Summer Camps at OIRM

I’ve loved museums my entire life…and after working in one for 10 years, that love only grew stronger. On Mondays, I will share some of my favorite museums located within the 26 counties of eastern Arkansas.

Happy Monday! If you have youngsters that are already bored with summer vacation, check out the summer camps being offered by the Old Regional Independence Museum in Batesville.

Old Independence Regional Museum in Batesville wants to teach kids more about Arkansas History this summer. OIRM Day Camps give schoolchildren the opportunity to learn more about our state’s history through a myriad of activities, including historic games, demonstrations and craft projects. Third and fourth graders are invited to camp on June 15-18. June 22-25 is reserved for fifth and sixth grade students. Class size is limited and reservations are required. Contact the museum at 870-793-2121 for more information.

Have a great week!
