One Last Visit to the

The forecast calls for a pretty good chance of rain tomorrow so chances are you’re looking for something to do indoors. Why not make a trip to the Arkansas Museum of Discovery  to say farewell to the old building (top photo) and exhibits? One week remains before the museum shuts down at 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 3, for a total renovation. Expected reopening date is January 2012.

Be sure and take advantage of this opportunity to visit the “old” museum one last time. Then mark your calendars for the grand opening of the new Museum of Discovery at the Donald W. Reynolds Science Center (bottom photo). This family friendly destination deserves a heartfelt send-off before the overhaul. Admission is $5 per person, not valid with other offers.

The museum is located on President Clinton Avenue in Little Rock’s downtown River Market District. Artist renderings of the new museum are online at www.anewMOD.org.

Thanks so muck for writing about the farewell week of the Museum of Discovery! We will miss seeing our visitors at the museum but hope to see everyone at our events at other locations while the building is closed!
