If you love films, I’ve got a great suggestion for you this week! It’s time to celebrate cinema in the Ozark foothills! The 10th annual Ozark Foothills FilmFest
takes place March 23-27 at locations throughout Batesville
, including the University of Arkansas Community College and the Old Independence Regional Museum. The festival is committed to showcasing work by emerging and established filmmakers from Arkansas and neighboring states. A number of special 10th anniversary highlights are planned, including a performance by the Alloy Orchestra as they provide live accompaniment to the classic silent film Metropolis. For more information, visit www.ozarkfoothillsfilmfest.org
or phone 870-251-1189.
If you’ve heard of geocaching but never tried the hobby yourself, here’s your chance! Geocaching is a great activity for friends and families. If you aren’t familiar with the outdoor scavenger hunt, Jacksonport State Park in Newport is hosting a GPS Workshop on March 26. Participants will learn how to operate a GPS, locate hidden caches and create their own caches. There will also be a caching contest within the park. Visit www.ArkansasStateParks.com or phone 870-523-2143 for more information.
Have a great week!
