If you love films, I’ve got a great suggestion for you this week! It’s time to celebrate cinema in the Ozark foothills! The 10th annual Ozark Foothills FilmFest
takes place March 23-27 at locations throughout Batesville
, including the University of Arkansas Community College and the Old Independence Regional Museum. The festival is committed to showcasing work by emerging and established filmmakers from Arkansas and neighboring states. A number of special 10th anniversary highlights are planned, including a performance by the Alloy Orchestra as they provide live accompaniment to the classic silent film Metropolis. If you’ve heard of geocaching but never tried the hobby yourself, here’s your chance! Geocaching is a great activity for friends and families. If you aren’t familiar with the outdoor scavenger hunt, Jacksonport State Park in Newport is hosting a GPS Workshop on March 26. Participants will learn how to operate a GPS, locate hidden caches and create their own caches. There will also be a caching contest within the park.
