If you often camp in the Russellville area, you’ll want to pay attention to this U.S. Army Corps of Engineers news release.
“The Army Corps of Engineers Russellville Project Office announces the temporary suspension of camping Sept. 19 through Nov. 5 in Riverview Park at Dardanelle. The suspension of camping is in conjunction with the Dardanelle hydropower plant’s annual outage for routine maintenance. Closing the park will ensure emergency power is available for the power plant.
“Day use activities such as bank fishing will still be permitted. For safety concerns during the maintenance, the powerhouse tailrace area will be subject to closure from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays. Signs will be posted in the tailrace area at these times.
For more information, call the Russellville Project Office at 479-968-5008.”
