Rowdy Adventures, a 300-acre outdoor adventure park ( that includes zip line tours) is scheduled to open soon in Okolona. The park bills itself as the South’s largest outdoor adventure park. The zip line tour takes adventurers on a three-mile tour by harnessing them with all the necessary equipment to soar through the air and enjoy the scenery.
According to owner Rowdy Prince, the park has 14 zip lines and the longest tree based cable run that’s been accredited by the ACCT (Association for Challenge Course Technology). It stands out from other zip line tours in the amount of property it covers, the number of zip lines and the scope of the park.
We teach you how to properly put on your pulleys, how to break, how to self recover in case you get caught in the middle of a zip, etc..” he said. He said instead of using zip line gear they use rock climbing gear.
According to Prince the inspiration for the park was the historic Old Iron Bridge built in 1908. The bridge crosses the Little Missouri River and plans to restore the bridge are ongoing. The park is built around the bridge, which is owned by Clark and Nevada Counties.
Copperhead Creek Preserve on the Little Missouri River. To get there take the Okolona exit 54 off I-30. The park is open 7 days a week and times are 9-6 when the last tour leaves out.
