Rowdy Adventures, a 300-acre outdoor adventure park ( that includes zip line tours) is scheduled to open soon in Okolona. The park bills itself as the South’s largest outdoor adventure park. The zip line tour takes adventurers on a three-mile tour by harnessing them with all the necessary equipment to soar through the air and enjoy the scenery.

According to owner Rowdy Prince, the park has 14 zip lines and the longest tree based cable run that’s been accredited by the ACCT (Association for Challenge Course Technology).  It stands out from other zip line tours in the amount of property it covers, the number of zip lines and the scope of the park.

Prince said the tour is not timed and instead of being put with a group of strangers like most tours do, participants get to experience the tour with the group they came with. “You, your family or friends, basically whoever you came with,” said Prince. “You don’t have to go with a group you don’t know. “

To go on the tour, visitors purchase a wristband, get fitted with gear, and go through a short intro safety course. “
We teach you how to properly put on your pulleys, how to break, how to self recover in case you get caught in the middle of a zip, etc..” he said.  He said instead of using zip line gear they use rock climbing gear.

According to Prince the inspiration for the park was the historic Old Iron Bridge built in 1908.  The bridge crosses the Little Missouri River and plans to restore the bridge are ongoing. The park is built around the bridge, which is owned by Clark and Nevada Counties.

Prince said the park opens to the public the first weekend of June. The property is located on a deer camp called
Copperhead Creek Preserve on the Little Missouri River. To get there take the Okolona exit 54 off I-30. The park is open 7 days a week and times are 9-6 when the last tour leaves out. Pricing for the long tour ( all 14 zip lines) is $79.99 per person and the short tour ( 2 zip lines) is $29.00 per person. Group rates are also available. For more details

My son and I went to Rowdy’s today and we had a wonderful time. My opinion is it was well worth the money and we will be going again.

  17. Steve says:

I took my son today. I had never zip lined before. They trained me on how to zip on a short run first. They taught how to slow yourself and how to keep yourself pointed in the right direction. The first two lines were kind of scary but after the first two I was bounding off the platform and enjoying every inch. Lots of fun. My son liked it so much he asked for a job as a guide. I thought the price was kind of high at first but after you experience all 15 zip lines, and walked the trails, it was well worth the money.

  18. Cheryl says:

I just completed the entire course this afternoon. My husband and 22 year old son did not want to participate so I did it by myself! I had a great guide, David, who helped me with every zip line and told me what to do/expect on each one! I would go again right now!!!

  19. Tami Montgomery says:

Congratulations and what a great idea! What are the off season dates and would you consider corporate retreats aka/reserved for company retreat? Best of luck…this is awesome!
