Kerry Kraus

There will be some great music in Central Arkansas as the Sights and Sounds of the American West are presented by the Conway Symphony Orchestra and five guest soloists. The concert takes place Saturday, March 12, at 7:30 p.m. in the Reynolds Performance Hall on the University of Central Arkansas campus in Conway. Tickets for the concert range from $6 to $38 with discounts for students, groups and the UCA community, and are available online.

This is the finale concert of the four-day Living Documentary Event, Songs of the American West, produced by Songs Unlimited at the University of Central Arkansas, which began March 9.  Conductor Israel Getzov leads the symphony in favorites from Puccini and Copland, and works by nationally renowned contemporary composer Libby Larsen. Andrea Ramos, the UCA Concerto Competition winner, is a featured soprano soloist.(bottom photo)
