The full bloom of spring flowers in Arkansas is as eagerly awaited as fall color changes are in fall. According to Marla Crider, marketing director for Garvan Woodland Gardens in Hot Springs, the gardens’ over 165,000 daffodils are at peak bloom right now. Approximately 50% of the more than 100,000 tulips are in bloom. Crider believes the flowers will peak this weekend and next week, barring any unusual weather trends.
Dogwoods, redbuds and azaleas in the garden are a couple of weeks away, depending on weather, Crider says.
Garvan Woodland Gardens, located on the shores of Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs, is a department of the University of Arkansas’ Fay Jones School of Architecture. For more information visit www.garvangardens.com.
