Tasty Thursday: Larry’s Pizza Opens in Forrest City

“Tasty Thursday” blogs feature restaurants and shops located throughout my territory that offer delectable dishes, interesting items and tantalizing tidbits!

Let’s start at the beginning. It’s all Chuck Haralson’s “fault!” Chuck, Arkansas Parks and Tourism’s chief photographer, introduced me to Larry’s Pizza. The entire Communications team was in Little Rock about two years ago. It was Chuck’s birthday, so we let him choose where we’d eat lunch. He chose Larry’s, one of his favorite haunts, and my “addiction” began!

Until last week, the closest Larry’s Pizza to me was Stuttgart, an hour’s drive from home. But that never deterred me. I’d drag friends along and we’d make a day of it in Stuttgart, with Larry’s Pizza always on the “menu.” But as of last week, my drive became much shorter!

Larry’s Pizza in Forrest City (less than 20 miles from my home!) opened last weekend. Larry’s is an Arkansas-based company with locations throughout The Natural State, as well as other franchises across the region. The menu offers pizza, salads, sandwiches, cheese sticks and dessert pizzas. But, for me, it’s all about the pizza! The crust is perfect…not too thick and not too thin. Larry’s is known for their specialty pizzas, and believe me, the combinations are special!! With choices including buffalo chicken, Margarita, chicken and spinach, taco, vegetarian, chicken Alfredo, and loaded baked potato, you’ll have no problem finding a pizza for every taste. The only problem will be deciding on your favorite. Make SURE to try the cheesecake dessert pizza…it’s just awesome!

Larry’s Pizza is home to the “lazy man’s buffet,” a different take on the ordinary dinner line. When you sit down at your table, if you’re having the buffet, one of the helpful team members will ask if you’d like a specific pizza. Whenever the piping-hot pies come from the kitchen, the staff takes the pizza from table to table, offering patrons pieces of the warm creations. In other words, you seldom have to leave the table! Speaking of the great staff at Larry’s, that’s Ashley on the top left, one of our wonderful servers last night!

As I said, Larry’s offers lunch and dinner buffets (times depend on the locations) and you can always order off the menu.

I’ll admit one thing…the pizza can become addictive. The cheeseburger is one of my personal favorites, along with the Margarita. But…the cheese pizza is still number one in my book.

If you’re in Forrest City, stop by Larry’s Pizza and welcome Tuan Le and his staff to the “neighborhood!”

Larry’s Pizza has locations throughout The Natural State, including Stuttgart, Jonesboro, Searcy, Little Rock, Bryant, Sheridan, El Dorado, Cabot and Whitehall.
