My blog each Wednesday is going to discuss the wine offerings of Arkansas from individual vineyards, wines, festivals, wine-infused events and more.

The spring semi-annual wine tasting at Gaston’s White River Resort in Lakeview is this Saturday, April 10. Post Familie Vineyards provides the wine for this free event. It is held in the resort’s conference lodge.
The oldest commercial vineyard between California and New York, Post Familie Vineyards has been run by five generations of the Post family since 1880.
Gaston’s is nestled along two miles of the world famous White River. It has modern cabins, glass-enclosed restaurant offering fine dining, seasonal swimming pool, tennis court, hiking/nature trails, lounge, gift shop, private air strip and more. My husband and I love trout fishing here, and love spending time at Gaston’s.
Combine Gaston’s, wine and fishing and that’s a pretty fine day, don’t you think?
Directions: Turn off Ark. 178 onto Powerhouse Road; at the bottom of the hill turn left into Bull Shoals-White River State Park, then another left turn immediately onto River Road and go for two miles
