World Championship Steak Cook-Off Time in Magnolia

Zoie Clift

Like the smell of steaks
cooking on the grill? If so, then the place to be this weekend is Magnolia. Each year around 50 grills
light up to cook over 5000 steaks during the World Championship Steak Cook-Off which takes place tomorrow (May 15). The
cook-off ties in with the annual Magnolia Blossom Festival (which starts today)
for a festival fueled weekend.

Along with steaks there will be a motorcycle
show, an antique car show, a 5K race, crafts, a Big Bass Tournament, a
parade and live music. More details can be found at www.blossomfestival.org.  While
in town, other sights to take in include Lake Columbia and Logoly State Park,
located 10 miles north of town on Columbia 47 at McNeil.
