I like polenta, and I like the name of this special event to be held in northwest Arkansas this weekend – the Tontitown Polenta Smear. Sounds interesting, doesn’t it?
The 10th annual Polenta Smear will take place from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. this Sunday, Nov. 6 at St. Joseph Parish Hall in Tontitown. It’s a celebration of the Tontitown’s rich history and heritage. The event features photo exhibits, genealogy information, and free samples of the traditional Italian dish of polenta (cornmeal mush) and umedo (sauce).
It’s free. So, head to Tontitown this weekend for a taste of Italian. Call the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History at 750-8165 for more information. Check out the great antique stores while you’re in the area.
