Dutch ovens make it easy for even you and me to enjoy a tasty outdoor meal! Join us at the Plantation Agriculture Museum and discover how to cook over a coal fire with this unique cast iron oven on legs. We will be hosting two 4-hour workshops, from 9-1pm, on Saturday, September 22 and Saturday, October 6. The first workshop will be a Beginners Workshop and the following workshop is our Advanced Workshop. While enjoying these workshops; we will be learning how to cook full 3-course meals, understanding the care and techniques for Dutch oven cooking, and hearing the stories from the past. Meals will be centered on good ol’ southern home cooking, including: biscuits, bread, pies, cobblers, corn-on-the-cob, fried veggies, chicken pot pie, and chicken & dumplings. The workshop fee is $45 after discount. This will include both workshops, all of the meals, and a workshop booklet with tips and recipes.
