Recipe Description & History
Barbecue and the South are synonymous. There are numerous barbecue places in The Natural State and all have very loyal followings and well-earned reputations. One of the Delta’s best was Shadden’s BBQ, which is, unfortunately, no longer open for business. But you can continue the legacy and enjoy the legendary taste with their barbecue recipe.
Vivian and Wayne Shadden greeted and served their specialty for almost four decades out of their 100 year old general store. It was an experience on its own to wander through the store reading the many magazine and newspaper articles, looking at photos, awards, trophies and the old “45s” jukebox and then to roll up the lid of the chest cooler and grab a cold drink.
