Benefits

Our Department offers an excellent benefit package including immediate accrual of annual and sick leave, eleven paid holidays, and a contributory retirement plan. Our Department pays the major portion of medical health insurance for full-time employees and offers several medical plans from which to choose. These plans range from an indemnity plan with a PPO option to HMO's.

Other benefits include maternity leave, court and jury duty leave, military leave and a catastrophic illness leave program as well as Family and Medical leave. Employees with our Department may choose to participate in a deferred compensation plan and various options for life insurance, accident insurance, cancer care and intensive care insurance. Employees are also able to participate in the Arkansas Cafeteria Plan which is a program designed to allow an employee to pay for group health and life insurance premiums, dependent day care and out-of-pocket medical care costs tax free. All employees of our Department are also covered under workers' compensation and unemployment insurance.

Welcome Center Assistant Manager

Regional Park Supervisor, Region IV

Summary of Duties & Minimum Qualifications:
This position oversees the management of 10 staffed and 5 un-staffed state parks in south / southwest Arkansas. The Regional Supervisor serves as a member of park master planning teams for each park in the region to develop long and short-range operational plans, reviews and approves individual park budgets and requests for capital improvements, major maintenance projects, and equipment purchases. Upon approval, the Regional Supervisor monitors actual revenues and expenditures and conducts on-site inspections of projects. The Supervisor monitors operations, investigates problems, offers solutions for improvements, ensures that park maintenance and cleanliness are in compliance with department standards, and performs random checks or participates in inventories of equipment and resale merchandise. ACCOUNTING COORDINATOR

This position manages and maintains the Cash Receipts, Accounts Receivable and Payroll functions of the Agency. This position supervises five employees, oversees the Agency’s bi-weekly payroll processing for up to 1200 employees and oversees the audit of cash receipt reports submitted by state parks. The position manages approximately 50 bank accounts and transfers funds to State Treasury. It is responsible for the development, recommendation, implementation & maintenance of procedures for accounting functions including bank reconciliations, credit card processing, revenue recognition, bi-weekly payroll processing and other related job tasks. It provides & maintains written instruction manuals of approved processes and procedures relating to its areas of responsibility and establishes procedures to identify and report exceptions. The Accounting Coordinator trains park employees on cash receipt reporting and interacts with other state agencies in processing payroll. The candidate must possess good problem solving and communication skills. This position is governed by State & Federal laws, Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP) and Agency policy.
