Our Department offers an excellent benefit package including immediate accrual of annual and sick leave, eleven paid holidays, and a contributory retirement plan. Our Department pays the major portion of medical health insurance for full-time employees and offers several medical plans from which to choose. These plans range from an indemnity plan with a PPO option to HMO's.

Other benefits include maternity leave, court and jury duty leave, military leave and a catastrophic illness leave program as well as Family and Medical leave. Employees with our Department may choose to participate in a deferred compensation plan and various options for life insurance, accident insurance, cancer care and intensive care insurance. Employees are also able to participate in the Arkansas Cafeteria Plan which is a program designed to allow an employee to pay for group health and life insurance premiums, dependent day care and out-of-pocket medical care costs tax free. All employees of our Department are also covered under workers' compensation and unemployment insurance.

Maintenance Assistant

Location: Lake Ouachita State Park

Summary of Duties & Minimum Qualifications:
Performs general maintenance on grounds, facilities, and equipment. Operates commercial landscaping equipment, maintains equipment inventories, performs vehicle maintenance tasks, and completes equipment maintenance records. Serves as a certified chainsaw operator and waste water facility operator (must be certified within the first year of employment). Must have a valid driver’s license, abity to traverse rough terrain, ability to lift up to 75 lbs., and work a varied schedule including some weekends and holidays.  A driving record check will be performed.  Position offers a full benefit package including paid holidays, annual and sick leave, health insurance, and retirement pension.  Minimum qualifications: Ability to read and write; plus two years of experience/on-the-job training performing grounds keeping and/or themaintenance of lawn-care equipment. Human Resources Specialist

Summary of Duties & Minimum Qualifications:

The HR Specialist is one of a small team responsible for a variety of agency wide HR procedures.  Team members provide information over the phone and in person to employees, applicants and other agencies, and maintain our official personnel files.  This position is specifically assigned to work on processing garnishments, unemployment claims, completing various personnel reports, vacancy advertisements, and miscellaneous benefit deductions, as wella s update the agency’s internal HR policy/forms web page. We are seeking a sharp, detail-oriented self-starter who takes pride in producing accurate work, enjoys a steady pace, appreciates keeping busy, and can deliver outstanding customer service. Preference will be given to individuals with AASIS HR experience.

ADPT Welcome Center Administrator

Location: Tourism Division, Little Rock, AR

Summary of Duties & Minimum Qualifications:

Oversees the operation of 14 welcome centers and staff located on the borders of the state.  Interviews, hires, assigns and reviews work, and evaluates performance.  Plans and develops marketing and social media strategies to encourage visitation by travelers.  Visits the centers to identify problems, investigate complaints and recommend corrective actions.  Position oversees compilation and production of monthly and annual reports as required.  The Welcome Center Administrator works closely with colleagues at the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department to ensure safe and efficient operation of the centers. Some travel may be required on weekends and holidays. Geographic familiarity with Arkansas preferred.

ADPT Specialty Operations Manager

Location: Degray Lake Resort State Park, Bismark, AR

Summary of Duties & Minimum Qualifications:
This position serves as the Golf Course Manager and manages the 18-hole championship public golf course at the Park.  Our manager provides daily supervision to employees, completes performance appraisals, prepares work schedules, plans daily and long-range improvements for the golf course and oversees the selection and pricing of resale inventory.  Other duties include planning, promoting, and conducting golf tournaments and special golfing events, coordinating ARK Intercollegiate Golf matches, interpreting USGA rules for visitors and advising the groundskeeper of turf grass maintenance. This position must be able to communicate with golf professionals, promote golfing with surrounding golf courses and keep the public and guest informed and pleased with course operations. Must be able to work a varied schedule including weekends and some holidays, and other duties as assigned. Applicant must have and maintain a Class A PGA of America membership or LPGA membership. Preference will be given to applicants with five or more years of experience in golf course business operations.

The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in business or a related field; plus two years of experience in business operations, including two years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
