Benefits

Our Department offers an excellent benefit package including immediate accrual of annual and sick leave, eleven paid holidays, and a contributory retirement plan. Our Department pays the major portion of medical health insurance for full-time employees and offers several medical plans from which to choose. These plans range from an indemnity plan with a PPO option to HMO's.

Other benefits include maternity leave, court and jury duty leave, military leave and a catastrophic illness leave program as well as Family and Medical leave. Employees with our Department may choose to participate in a deferred compensation plan and various options for life insurance, accident insurance, cancer care and intensive care insurance. Employees are also able to participate in the Arkansas Cafeteria Plan which is a program designed to allow an employee to pay for group health and life insurance premiums, dependent day care and out-of-pocket medical care costs tax free. All employees of our Department are also covered under workers' compensation and unemployment insurance.

Museum Program Assistant II (Museum of Natural Resources)

Location: Arkansas Museum of Natural Resources, Smackover, AR

Grade:        C110

This position assists with the museum’s educational/interpretive tours, conducts educational programming for all age groups, and is responsible for press releases about upcoming events for all media.  Other duties include maintaining the research center, assisting with research projects, developing special event and volunteer programming, coordinating and producing the museum’s calendar of events, and other duties as assigned.  Applicants with experience in education and teaching and experience in written and oral communication are preferred.  Must be able to work a varied schedule, including some weekends, evenings, and holidays.  A criminal background check is required.

Assistant Housekeeping Supervisor (Mt. Magazine)

This position works as the assistant to the executive housekeeper and assists in the training of new employees in housekeeping procedures.  This position acts as supervisor for full time and seasonal housekeepers in the executive housekeeper’s absence and performs other related responsibilities as required or assigned.  This position is responsible for cleaning of all rental units in lodge complex, outside cabins and public use areas in facility.  Sweeps, mops, and buffs floors, vacuums rugs, cleans baseboards, cleans bathroom, dusts furniture and fixtures, washes windows and blinds and empties trash.  Strips and waxes floors and cleans fireplaces as needed.  Applicant must be able to move 50 pounds, have a valid driver’s license, the ability to carry out oral and/or written instructions, and work a varied work schedule including weekends and holidays.  A criminal background check is required.

This position will serve in a support role for the Engineering and Architectural units of the Planning and Development section of Arkansas State Parks.  Duties include filing, drafting, and reviewing documents such as plans and specifications, contracts, pay estimates, change orders, correspondence, and reports, as well as routing, copying, and distributing documents.  Applicant will provide assistance in researching information for special projects and reports, maintaining vehicles and equipment, and will provide technical assistance to the field staff as required.  In state travel is required, and computer skills in Windows, Microsoft Office and AutoCad are a must.  A driver’s record check will be performed.

Administrative Analyst (Parks Administration)

This position is responsible for providing budget assistance, preparing reports, and providing assistance as part of the Parks Administration staff.  Job duties include processing travel requests for all State Parks staff according to DFA/ADPT travel regulations, processing/maintaining all housing leases for the state park system, assisting in annual and biennial budget preparation by gathering information and compiling reports, and assisting both the public and state employees with technical inquiries.  Other duties include providing daily supervision to a small staff, completing performance reviews, attending meetings, preparing various reports and records, and other duties as assigned.  A criminal background check is required.

Maintenance Manager (Village Creek)

This position provides daily and long range supervision in maintaining and improving conditions of the greens, fairways and rough of the Village Creek Golf Course.  Job duties include supervising all golf course maintenance staff and pro shop staff, planning both daily and long-range improvements for the course, scheduling fertilizing, water and mowing of the course, purchasing materials and locating suppliers.  Other job duties included direct supervision of the Maintenance Coordinator and Pro shop manager, preparing and managing budgets for golf course and pro shop operations, and other duties as assigned.  Familiarity with turf management practices and retail sales is required.  Applicant must be able to work a varied shift, including nights, weekends and holidays.  A driver's record check will be performed.  Applicants with golf course maintenance and retail experience preferred.  A criminal background check is required.
