Benefits

Our Department offers an excellent benefit package including immediate accrual of annual and sick leave, eleven paid holidays, and a contributory retirement plan. Our Department pays the major portion of medical health insurance for full-time employees and offers several medical plans from which to choose. These plans range from an indemnity plan with a PPO option to HMO's.

Other benefits include maternity leave, court and jury duty leave, military leave and a catastrophic illness leave program as well as Family and Medical leave. Employees with our Department may choose to participate in a deferred compensation plan and various options for life insurance, accident insurance, cancer care and intensive care insurance. Employees are also able to participate in the Arkansas Cafeteria Plan which is a program designed to allow an employee to pay for group health and life insurance premiums, dependent day care and out-of-pocket medical care costs tax free. All employees of our Department are also covered under workers' compensation and unemployment insurance.

Human Resources Specialist

Summary of Duties & Minimum Qualifications:

The HR Specialist is one of a small team responsible for a variety of agency wide HR procedures.  Team members provide information over the phone and in person to employees, applicants and other agencies, and maintain our official personnel files.  This position is specifically assigned to work on processing garnishments, unemployment claims, completing various personnel reports, vacancy advertisements, and miscellaneous benefit deductions, as wella s update the agency’s internal HR policy/forms web page. We are seeking a sharp, detail-oriented self-starter who takes pride in producing accurate work, enjoys a steady pace, appreciates keeping busy, and can deliver outstanding customer service. Preference will be given to individuals with AASIS HR experience.

ADPT Welcome Center Administrator

Location: Tourism Division, Little Rock, AR

Summary of Duties & Minimum Qualifications:

Oversees the operation of 14 welcome centers and staff located on the borders of the state.  Interviews, hires, assigns and reviews work, and evaluates performance.  Plans and develops marketing and social media strategies to encourage visitation by travelers.  Visits the centers to identify problems, investigate complaints and recommend corrective actions.  Position oversees compilation and production of monthly and annual reports as required.  The Welcome Center Administrator works closely with colleagues at the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department to ensure safe and efficient operation of the centers. Some travel may be required on weekends and holidays. Geographic familiarity with Arkansas preferred.

Multi-Media Specialist

This position organizes and maintains the digital and color transparencies library and assists the Chief Photographer, taking photos as needed.  Applicant will fill requests from magazines, newspapers, and other tourism organizations, maintain and treat photos for Arkansas.com, scan slides, produce PowerPoint presentations, and work on tourism publications such as the Arkansas Tour Guide and the Arkansas Adventure Guide.  Other job duties include ordering and maintaining office supplies for the photography section and other duties as assigned.  Applicant must have knowledge of digital and film photography and Adobe Photoshop.  Digital editing experience is required.

Special Events Supervisor

Summary of Duties & Minimum Qualifications:
This position will be dedicated to the upkeep and operation of the 1940 Gymnasium, 1914 School House, Bathhouse and laundry facility, and the grounds surrounding each facility. Job duties include participating in the coordination of special events, maintaining the inventory of supplies and equipment requested by groups during special events and assisting with each group on the set up and tear down of each event. Maintenance Specialist

This position performs general maintenance on grounds, facilities, and equipment. Job duties include carpentry, electrical and plumbing repairs, painting, trash pick-up, mowing, weed trimming, and cleaning facilities. This position also operates commercial landscaping equipment, maintains equipment inventories, performs vehicle maintenance tasks, and completes equipment maintenance records. Position will operate as a park certified chainsaw operator and waste water facility operator. If the applicant does not have a waste water license, they must be able to complete the licensing process to achieve a Class I, although Class II is preferred. If the applicant does not have a chainsaw operator’s certificate, they must be able to complete the licensing process within the first year. Facility Manager I

This position is a first-line greeter in a 125-seat restaurant with adjacent 40-seat dining area. As a working supervisor, this position manages the restaurant floor, greets and seats guests, explains menu items, assists with resolving complaints, prepares work schedules, provides counseling, and disciplines employees. Other job duties include training and supervising front of the house employees, handling monetary transactions, ensuring the cleanliness of the restaurant, and performing other duties as assigned. ADPT Specialty Operations Manager

Summary of Duties & Minimum Qualifications:
This position serves as the Golf Course Manager and manages the 18-hole championship public golf course at the Park.  Our manager provides daily supervision to employees, completes performance appraisals, prepares work schedules, plans daily and long-range improvements for the golf course and oversees the selection and pricing of resale inventory.  Other duties include planning, promoting, and conducting golf tournaments and special golfing events, coordinating ARK Intercollegiate Golf matches, interpreting USGA rules for visitors and advising the groundskeeper of turf grass maintenance. This position must be able to communicate with golf professionals, promote golfing with surrounding golf courses and keep the public and guest informed and pleased with course operations. Must be able to work a varied schedule including weekends and some holidays, and other duties as assigned. Applicant must have and maintain a Class A PGA of America membership or LPGA membership. Preference will be given to applicants with five or more years of experience in golf course business operations.
