One of the greatest Spanish artifacts found at Parkin is the glass chevron bead, which was possibly traded by a member of the de Soto expedition to an inhabitant of ancient Casqui. Learn the technique of how this bead, and other types, were made, but with clay instead of glass. While the beads are baked in the oven, Dr. Jeff Mitchem, our Parkin Station Archeologist will give a talk about beads in archeology. Fee covers instruction and materials. Ages 12 and up. Contact the park to register.
