So, you got this new gadget for Christmas that was supposed to help you find your way, but it’s still sitting in a box on the shelf until you figure out how to work it. Well, here’s your chance to grab the box, dust it off and bring it to Lake Ouachita State Park to put this handy little tool to work. This 3-hour workshop will cover how a GPS works and ways you can use it. Whether you are traveling, hunting, fishing, or geocaching; a GPS can be of great use. By the end of the day, you will know how to enter a waypoint, track a route, determine a distance and find your way home. The $10 workshop fee includes classroom instruction and hands-on demonstrations outside, so dress appropriately for the weather and terrain. Bring a notebook and your questions to the visitor center at 9 a.m. Space is limited, so register early by calling the park.
