The trees at Logoly State Park should be starting to show their fall colors by mid-September. Come out to see the colors of the leaves and learn to use those same leaves to identify the trees. We will also use bark patterns, arrangement of leaves and limbs, and arrangement of fall buds as further identification aids. There will be a 3-hour hike to see the maximum number of species. Fee covers a book and handouts for each participant. This would be an excellent class for a high school forestry team, high school biology class or anyone with an interest in learning to identify common local trees. Class size is limited. Minimum recommended age is 12. Pre-registration is required.
