Pioneer Dishes Dutch Oven Outdoor Cooking Workshop
During Thanksgiving we remember the Pilgrims who came to this country and the Native Americans who provided them with food and helped them survive. Native American influence can be seen in the lives of all early pioneers, including those who came to Arkansas. Join us for a treat as we make dishes similar to what pioneers ate on the frontier and learn how their food was influenced by Native Americans. Dishes will be cooked in a cast iron Dutch oven on a fire. Contact the park for details and registration. Please wear closed-toed shoes. Ages 8 and up, please.
