Plug Into Profits at the 37th Annual Arkansas Governor's Conference on Tourism

Learn how to Plug Into Profits by attending the 37th annual Arkansas Governor’s Conference on Tourism at Little Rock’s Statehouse Convention Center, March 6-8. Over 600 attendees will explore ways to increase their bottom line with sessions by nationally known speakers including former Disney leader Jake Poore, now chief experience officer with Integrated Loyalty Systems, Inc. Poore’s presentations include “Discover the Magic Behind Creating Exceptional Customer Experiences” and “Building the Infrastructure to Hardwire the Magic.”
Keynote speaker R. Byron Carlock Jr., president and chief executive officer of CNL Lifestyle Company LLC, shares with attendees “Making the Most of What You Have.” Beth West with Midwest Living magazine and Meredith Travel Marketing discusses “The American Family Traveler.” Jill Griffin, known as the customer loyalty maker, focuses on “Taming the Search and Switch Customer: Earning Customer Loyalty in a Compulsion-to-Compare World.” Fishing legend Jerry McKinnis tells his story, “Fifty Years of Fishing Arkansas.”
In addition, there are workshops detailing the “Welcome to Arkansas” program, a panel discussion on “Tips for Successful Media Relations,” and “Turning Your New Marketing Efforts into a Well-Oiled Machine.” Other topics addressed are historic Civil War trails, geolocation marketing, Arkansas Hot Deals & Packages iPhone App and COVER (communication of vacancy emergency response), a program and website offering up-to-date lodging vacancy information during a crisis.
Presentations of the Arkansas Tourism Marketing Plan and Research Statistics are scheduled along with “Arkansas Roots – How Our Roots Can Be Our Greatest Asset,” and “Little Rock’s Volunteer to See Program – A Destination Marketing Initiative.” Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art Director Don Bacigalupi gives a progress report on the exciting new Northwest Arkansas attraction under construction.
An early bird bash kicks off the conference on Sunday in the River Market. The event wraps up with the Arkansas Tourism Industry Henry Awards on Tuesday evening. Special guests include Governor Mike Beebe and Miss Arkansas Alyse Eady.
