Day 1

Start the season off right with a trip to the Cox Creative Center in Little Rock's River Market District to enjoy "Holidays in the White House," a Clinton Presidential Library Preview Exhibit showcasing an 11-foot glass tree, ornaments, greeting card collection, special gifts and more from the Clinton's eight years as the First Family. Don't miss the lighted figures on the grounds of the River Market, made up of over 200,000 twinkling lights. A tour through downtown features the Capitol Christmas display on the grounds of the State Capitol building with 75 decorated trees representing each county in Arkansas. Searcy shines with millions of lights downtown at the "Berryhill Park Light Up." The town's lighting display has received the prestigious Henry Award from the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism. Travel to Paris for an enchanting holiday lights display showcasing the historic 1900s courthouse draped in thousands of lights. The remodeled Court Square is decorated with more than 100,000 lights. Santa Claus will be in his "Santa House" each evening until Christmas Eve. For details, contact the Paris Area Chamber of Commerce (479/963-2244 or http://www.parisaronline.com/).

Follow the glow... to Altus! Voted "Best Small-Town Holiday Display in Northwest Arkansas," the whole downtown business district and City Park Square are decorated for your group's holiday enjoyment. Just a short distance away, see Christmas with a Swiss twist at the Wiederkehr Village, located on the southern slopes of the Ozark Mountains and home to Mid-America's largest and oldest winery. See Van Buren's historic Main Street adorned for Christmas with lighted decorations, including the county courthouse outlined in thousands of sparkling lights. Enjoy old-fashioned shopping and entertainment as Main Street shops display Van Buren's colorful history through live window displays available to groups with advanced notice. Hop on the Arkansas and Missouri Railroad for a trip over trestles and through tunnels of the Ozark Mountains in beautifully restored early 20th century railroad cars. Enjoy more than one million lights during "Snowflakes on Garrison Avenue" in downtown Fort Smith. Visit light displays throughout the city - from Riverfront-Kelley Park to Creekmore Park on Rogers Avenue to the "Trail of Trees" in Pendergraft Park. Miss Laura will be waiting to greet your group at the Fort Smith Visitors Center before entertaining your group with a dinner theater production by Miss Laura's Players.
