Real South Recreation (For moderate hikers from MO-AR-TN)

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7
Day 1
This soft adventure tour starts out in Springfield, Missouri. Take a sunrise hot air balloon ride at
Balloon Sport USA. Experience the thrill of ballooning and take in the sights of the scenic Ozark Mountains. The tour continues on to
Crystal Cave. Walk through the natural paths to see Rainbow Falls, the Cathedral and the Upside Down Well. Now it's time for lunch. Choose from
Springfield's 600 restaurants. After lunch drop by the Granddaddy of all outdoor stores,
Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World. This 300,000 square-foot showroom is loaded with unique features, an art gallery, waterfalls and much more. Hop on the bus and travel to
Branson (approximately 48 minutes). Check into your hotel before heading to Branson's
Celebration City. This amusement park is an all-in-one nighttime park and offers rides, attractions, family-style dining and a nightly spectacular of fireworks and lasers. Return to your hotel room an overnight stay.
Day 2
Start this morning at
Trek the Ozarks. Take a guided half-day tour (your choice) of lake kayaking, canoeing, hiking or mountain biking. Have lunch in
Branson before departing for
Arkansas. Your Arkansas adventure takes you to the
Buffalo National River. Travel to Ponca and check into
River Wind Lodge and Cabins (approximately 1 hour, 28 minutes). The lodge offers stunning views of the Buffalo National River wilderness. Pack your hiking gear to hike
Lost Valley Trail. The 2.3 miles (round-trip) offers beautiful creekside scenery, Eden Falls and Cobb Cave. Return to the lodge for the evening for dinner and free time to relax in the Buffalo National River wilderness.
Day 3
This morning is dedicated to floating the Buffalo National River's most scenic area. The 10-mile float takes between four and six hours to complete. Bring a picnic lunch and snacks for along the way. Binoculars are highly recommended! Catch the shuttle back to the lodge and prepare to depart for
Mt. Magazine State Park (approximately 3 hours, 5 minutes). Upon arrival to Mt. Magazine State Park check into The Lodge and dine at the restaurant. Before retiring for the evening swim a few laps at the pool or soak in the hot tub.
Day 4
Begin this morning with a hike on
Signal Hill Trail. Signal Hill is the highest point in Arkansas at 2,753 feet above sea level. After your hike, board the bus to head East to
Memphis, Tennessee stop along the way for lunch (approximately. 4 hours, 26 minutes). Check into a hotel and spend the evening enjoying Memphis' nightlife.
Day 5
We're leaving Memphis this morning and driving to Ashland City, (approximately 3 hours, 23 minutes). Take a guided tour of scenic wildlife areas aboard a 30-passenger pontoon boat with
Blue Heron Cruises. Have lunch in
Nashville. We reserved the rest of the day to explore Nashville. Overnight stay in Nashville.
Day 6
Begin your morning with a short drive across Tennessee to Knoxville (approximately 2 hours, 48 minutes and in Eastern Standard Time). Board the
Three Rivers Rambler (11:00 am departure) for a 90-minute along the Tennessee River. Enjoy a nice lunch. Next, we're traveling to
Pigeon Forge (approximately 45 minutes). The afternoon is filled with ATV fun.
Bluff Mountain Adventures offers guided ATV trips on some of their 7000 acres of mountain trails. Don't worry, all of the safety equipment is included! Check into a hotel and have dinner.
