Lake Dunn at Village Creek State Park

Lake Dunn, located in Village Creek State Park, off Ark. Hwy. 284 (between Wynne and Forrest City), is a bit smaller than Lake Austell. However the twin lakes have registered many excellent catches since the lakes opened in the late 1970s.

Fishing: Catfish in the 30-pound range have been hooked, along with lunker bass and pan-sized crappie.  For over 20 years, Dunn has been delighting fishermen with a steady yield of big Florida-strain largemouth bass. Since 1987, dozens of over-eight-pound bass have been caught in this lake. In addition to two fishing lakes, the park offers camping, cabins, hiking trails, nature programs, recreational field, playgrounds, boat dock and sandy beach. For more information, call the park at (870) 238-9406.

Mountain ViewMountain View, AR: I like the Ozark Folk Center and Mountain View because the center offers so many different craft and music workshops. The town is a great place to sit around the square and listen to old timers play. Learn More ...
