You can reel in some big ones at Horseshoe Lake.

Horseshoe Lake, six miles east of Hughes via Ark. 38, is famous for its open water and massive stands of ancient cypress trees. A modern highway circles the old river cutoff.

Fishing: Bass and panfish are the choice of most anglers. Boat ramps and marina are available. Call the Hughes Chamber of Commerce for general information (870) 339-2323.
