Arkansas River Between Little Rock and Dardanelle

Sixteen large lakes and the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System are under the control of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. These campgrounds provide the camper who is also a water sports enthusiast the opportunity to pursue both sports. Many Corps of Engineers campgrounds charge user's fees during the recreation season.

Cherokee (D-5)

Campsites: 33 RV/Tent with W/E

Location: 3 miles south of Morrilton off Cherokee Street.

Facilities: Flush toilets, water, hot showers, boat ramp, picnic sites, group pavilion, softball field, playground, 50 amp service available. (Open year-round) (Camping open Mar.-Oct.) User’s fee charged.

Cypress Creek (D-5)

Campsites: 9 RV/Tent with no hookups

Location: 2 miles north of Houston on Hwy. 113.

Facilities: Boat ramp, 9 picnic sites. (Open year-round) User's fee charged.

Maumelle (E-5)

Campsites: 129 RV/Tent with W/E

Location: 3 miles off Hwy. 10 on Pinnacle Valley Rd.

Facilities: Flush toilets, water, hot showers, boat ramp, 10 picnic sites, pavilions, nature trail, fishing pier, basketball court, playgrounds, 50 amp service available. (Open year-round) User's fee charged.

Point Remove (D-5)

Campsites: Day Use Only

Location: 1.4 miles south of Morrilton off Cherokee Street

Facilities: Boat ramp (Open year-round)

Sequoya (D-5)

Campsites: 14 RV/Tent with E

Location: 4 miles south of Morrilton on Hwy. 9, then right 1.6 miles on Lock and Dam 9 access road

Facilities: Flush toilets, water, showers, dump station, boat ramp, pavilion, 11 picnic sites, playground (Open year-round)

Sweeden Island (D-4)

Campsites: 28 RV/Tent with E

Location: 8 miles south of Atkins on Hwy. 105.

Facilities: flush toilets, showers, water, boat ramp, pavilion. (Open March-Oct.) User’s fee charged. Boat ramp open year-round.

Toad Suck Ferry (D-5)

Campsites: 48 RV/Tent with W/E

Location: Exit 129 off I-40 at Conway, go 6 miles west on Hwy. 60.

Facilities: Flush toilets, water, showers, boat ramp, sand volleyball, group pavilion, basketball court, nature trail, playground, 50 amp service available. (Open year-round) User's fee charged.
